Survey Party Chief

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Topcon, Carlson, and/or Trimble Robotic Total Stations and GPS for field surveying

  • Operate Carlson SurvPC and/or Trimble Data Collector Software

  • Work as part of a survey crew or independently as needed

  • Perform conventional field surveying methods

Required Skills and Experience

Office Manager Responsibilities

Mid-Level/Senior Land Development Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Prepare site and subdivision plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects

  • Design storm water management systems, storm drain plans and profiles, outfall analysis, sanitary sewer plans and profiles, water line plans and profiles, and water network analysis

Sr Project Manager - Special Surveys

We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the full-time position of Sr. Land Survey Project Manager for our Special Surveys section in our Annapolis Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This is not an entry level position. The ideal candidate will already have some office and field surveying experience and will be tasked with:

  • The preparation of Boundary, Topographic and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys under the supervision of a MD Professional land surveyor.

  • Independently conducting research, organizing documents, and analyzing deeds, plats, and reviewing title commitments.

  • Utilizing various Local, County, State and Quasi-Public databases for Geospatial data acquisition.

  • Field data processing including field-to-finish and traverse adjustment.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must be proficient with and have at least three years of experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Should have the ability to review and process field data, including least squares traverse adjustments and importing points into CAD. Experience with Trimble Business Center and Star*Net is a plus, but not required.

  • Should have exposure using networked desktop computer systems.

  • Must have good math and communication skills.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation.

Senior Water Resources Engineer

Charles P. Johnson & Associates seeks a career driven Water Resources Engineer to join its Public Sector Division in our Greenbelt, MD office to manage and serve as a technical lead for all aspects of water resources projects. 


Responsibilities

  • Complete complex hydrologic and hydraulic analyses

  • Design water resources improvements including stream restoration, dam improvements, and storm drain and stormwater management retrofits, prepare and obtain all approvals for all construction documents,

  • Handle client communications,

  • Manage construction observation and documentation efforts. 

  • Manage engineering/CAD technicians, surveyors, and sub-consultants

  • Oversee preparation of construction documents. 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Professional engineer’s license in the state of Maryland (or the ability to obtain a Maryland license within three (3) months of hire.

  • Seven (7) years of water resources experience and must be able to demonstrate intimate knowledge of and experience in the execution of water resources projects including phases of feasibility, conceptual design, construction document preparation, permitting, and construction management and documentation. 


Desired Skills and Experience

  • A familiarity with permitting processes of Montgomery, Prince George’s, and Howard Counties as well as the Maryland State Highway Administration and the Maryland Department of the Environment. 

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
